A team FAST-INNOVATORS of five students from Lahore Campus won the Sanitation Hackathon that was held by the WORLD BANK, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Urban Unit on Saturday-Sunday.

During the lecture an officer portioned-out a problem which they are facing by the prank calls (which are in thousands/month) of the citizens. He said; this problem is getting very swear and needs to be taken very seriously. He further shared a few cases of such prank calls which later caused the death of somebody at some-where else because that person was not entertained due to this irresponsible behaviour of the prankster.
They asked the students to come-up and play their productive role being the educated part of the society.

]]>The Grid is alternative Super Computer which could be used for Missiles Production, its testing, Weather Forecasting etcetera but here the students are working on “BUSINESS SIMULATION SOFTWARE” which will be a new production and research in the field. The project has been named; “GRID SERVICES FOR COMMERCIAL SIMULATION PACKAGES” and is a Research and Development focused work at there.
In the lab an efficient team of students Waqas Ahmed, Qasim Ali, Kashif Aziz, Ghulam Mustafa, Gulsher Ali, Hafiz Umair, Ahmed, Mehwish, Miss Reema and many more are working on the project, which are CS-faculty, MS-fellows and under-Grad students of the department. The project was started by Fall-2012 and expected time to complete is spring-2013. The team have started its work by connecting 9 computers at start and later will continue increasing the numbers by the success in it.
Asst.Prof. Numan Riaz and an instructor Mr.Navonil Mustafee from Swansea University UK are supervising the project.
While sharing the aims, a team-member said; running the stimulation software is the main task of us and we hope we will do it with-in the expected time. He further added; we shall not leave it on its completion rather our coming fellows will explore more in the area and will serve the nation in more advance and better way. It will also help in giving fast and comparatively good networking at the campus too.
